Goodnight to the Moon was recorded in 2001 and originally appeared on the 2002 EP release 'Songs from the Blue Parade'. The EP was well received in Australia and Europe and got the attention of EMI and other labels at the time. I recorded the track in my 'work shed' in North Carlton on a Yamaha keyboard that had a surprisingly realistic piano sound. I could never afford a piano at the time but loved to play, and I composed many songs on the keyboard. The song was once quoted by Iain Fugue from Molotov Records (UK) as "sounding at times like the Penguin Café Orchestra jamming with Crowded House on Valium."
