Prayer was more of an experiment in vocal layering, recorded at home in my 'work shed' in North Carlton, September 2001. The spooky thing about this recording is that it was made a day before the September 11 attacks and so I dedicated it to the victims who died in the towers. During this year, I was delving into Buddhism and meditating a lot. Much of my material I was writing or recording dealt with themes of peace and letting go. Khin Myint, a Buddhist, musician and dear friend at the time, was also a guide for me during this time and sang a backing voice on the track and also recited a small poem he wrote at the end of the song "Now that our hungers have been divided by momentary bliss, we know them from the outside and it's difficult to bare."
