about

Swim originally appeared on the 2002 EP release 'Songs from the Blue Parade'. The EP was well received in Australia and Europe and got the attention of EMI and other labels at the time. Swim was recorded at my home in 2000, in Flemington, Victoria, live to stereo video tape with Joel Bloom on lap steel. Joel and I had only just started playing music together and this was the first recording we made before going on to form several bands together including The Dirty Royals. This was Joel's favourite track of mine at the time, as he said it conjured up "deep emotions". Hats off to Adam Dempsey who took the old video tape and removed pops and scratches from the original recording in the mastering process in 2002.
